Well, we’re a few days behind the promised schedule, but our band’s tour dates are now up on the site. Right now they’re running through most of June. More will be added to the site, and more gigs will be added, especially in the spring, thanks to the hard work of the agents slaving away at DMA Artists headquarters in Nashville (it’s a glorified bluegrass-booking sweat shop).
I head back to Nashville at the end of the month for shows in Bowling Green, KY and Nashville, and to remind my friends at Sirius XM what I look like. I also plan to thaw out gradually, before heading to Florida to visit family.
Speaking of what I look like, I seem to have grown a beard without really meaning to. It turns out, that’s what happens when you stop shaving for an extended period of time. I never knew. It’s unlikely to stay, but right now it’s a nice barrier against -30 temperatures. I took a picture, just in case I decide to ditch it tomorrow. I also included another winter scene from here in northern Alberta’s Peace Country. We have to enjoy this scenery now, because spring could be here in as little as 15 weeks!
P.S. I asked Bluegrass Junction listeners to give thumbs up or thumbs down on the beard below, so if you see that, they’re not being rude; they’re just doing what I suggested. Feel free to weigh in. I’ll abide by the majority opinion…..at least for a while.

Thumbs down on the beard.
I think I agree with you, but I’ll keep an open mind (and a sharp razor blade if necessary).
I disagree. I think it suits you.
Nice thing is, you can always grow it back.
But I think you said this was your first beard, so I’ll warn you your chin is going really feel the cold when you first shave it off.
Well Chris I try and listen to your show every day, and must say I really enjoy.
Now on the beard thing, it looks much better than the one I had when I was riding
my motorbike. One day another biker told me I looked like a rat looking over a
toothbrush, gives you an idea how bad mine looked. living here in the cold of
Alberta every little bit of cover helps to keep one warm. keep up the fine work
You’re right Terry, it does feel pretty good against the Alberta wind. I never thought a beard would really make a big difference that way, but it does. I have a theory that the other biker who said that about your beard thought you had a way nicer bike and was just jealous!
Oh yeah! That is a keeper! To me , it is a sort of “Medieval evil prince” look. Very compelling, very classy.
I’m diggin’ the beard. If you were to add glasses, that would drive the gals crazy – but then Sally might have to nix that idea.
LJ
Funny you should mention that; I actually need glasses. I may be virtually unrecognizable by spring. I’ll promise Sally to get dorky ones.
Hey, Chris, if you get those glasses we won’t recognize you at Steve Kaufman camp in the summer! (And we do like the beard.)
Love your show. I’ve nearly driven off the road a few times laughing at your…..shall we say….extremely dry sense of humor.
I’m on your site to order “Cloud of Dust.” Been meaning to get it for a while now.
See ya in June!
