New Single

Hi Friends,

Tuesday, May 25th marks the release of a brand new single from the new CD, “Cloud of Dust”. It’s one of my originals, called “What You Do”. We chose it based on the incredible response this song has generated since the CD was released. To hear a sample, click on the CD Baby link on our “Music and DVDs”  page. Radio stations may download an airplay quality version for free at www.airplaydirect.com. For more information about the song, including lyrics and commentary, go to our expanded liner notes page: www.chrisjonesmusic.com/liner-notes

“Cloud of Dust” will be featured this week on Terry Herd’s “Into The Blue” show, bluegrass music’s most widely syndicated radio show. In addition to featuring tracks from the new CD, Terry will be interviewing me. For more information, you can check out the Bluegrass Radio Network’s site: www.bluegrassradio.com

Right now, I’m spending some time in my northern residence in northern Alberta (where it snowed last weekend!), doing my Bluegrass Junction show from “The Northern Studio” for the next week. After that, it’s back to Nashville to kick off the heart ot our summer touring season. Our first show will be June 5th at the Appalachian Uprising in Ohio (see the shows and workshops page).

Speaking of Bluegrass Junction, this Memorial Day weekend, we’ll be featuring lots of instrumentals, in what we’re calling the Memorial Day “Pick-nic”. In keeping with that theme, my “Truegrass” show will have more instrumentals than usual, including some true classics, like the original versions of “Rawhide”, “Big Country” and more. “Truegrass” is on the air every Friday, from 3-6PM and every Sunday from 6 to 9 PM ( eastern time).

The spammers continue to try to worm their way into this blog by posting fake comments, some of which are fairly creative, others less so, but almost all are completely inappropriate to the actual post they’re meant to be commenting on. I’ve decided to turn it into a weekly feature, so with that in mind, here is the Fake Blog Comment of the Week (FBCW):

Commenting on my post last December, in which I described attending the Canadian Olympic trials for the winter sport of curling:

“Things like this are incredibly disturbing to me and should be to everyone.”

I take it this particular spammer is not  a curling fan. I’ll post a new gem like this next week. In the mean time, please leave your real comments and I will approve them.
