Hello from an airplane, high above Texas somewhere en route from Albuquerque to Houston. We just wrapped up a great weekend in Durango, Colorado, where we played at The Durango Bluegrass Meltdown. We have the honour of being the only national act to play the Meltdown three times, and I can’t think of a festival we’d be happier returning to. Thanks to all the people involved in putting on the festival for having us back.
I spent an extra day in Albuquerque visiting family members. My dad lived there when I was a kid, and I still have a brother, sister and nieces and nephews there. Everything I ate in the last 24 hours had green chiles on or near it (by choice). I’ll be back in Nashville tonight.
In Night Driver social networking news, we now have a Twitter account. We should have a link on this site shortly, but until then, here’s how to get there:

I will still have a hard time saying the word “tweet” with a straight face.
In tour news, we just added a new date in the Cincinnati area on May 1st:
Molly Malone’s Irish Pub, 112 E. Fourth St., Covington, KY (859)491-6659 . Show is May 1, 8 pm, $10 . Their website is http://www.mollymalonesirishpub.com/covington
Tour dates are coming in quickly already for 2011. If you have any interest in having us at your event (in addition to concerts, festivals and clubs, we also play Dairy Queen openings, celebrity weddings, and FDA-mandated slaughterhouse closings), you can beat the rush by calling DMA Artists in Nashville at 615-972-8198.
Cloud of Dust news: “One Door Away”, from the new CD, is now in the top 20 of the BMP bluegrass singles chart. Thanks to radio programmers everywhere for playing the new CD.
This blog permits comments, so please leave one if you get time. It’s always great to get real comments, because there’s been a rash lately of fake comments from potential hackers and spammers. I’ve copied a few of them below, so you can enjoy them too:
“Gosh!…wouldn’t it be amazing to be a celebrity like that. So much fame and probably oodles of money, too!”
“I always like reading such intelligent articles by a person who is so obviously knowledgable on their chosen subject. I’ll be following this thread with much interest. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing this site go from strength to strength!”
“this is great ive bookmarked this one hehe”
“I’ve bookmarked this because I found it notable. I would be extremely interested to hear more information on this. Great!”
“lol a few of the comments individuals enter are such stoner remarks, commonly i wonder whether they even read the documents and reports before placing a comment or if perhaps they simply just look at the post title and write the initial thought that drifts into their minds. in any case, it’s pleasurable to read keen commentary every now and then in contrast to the exact same, outdated post vomit which i mostly observe on the internet i’m off to take up a few hands of zynga poker regards”
The first one was written without the knowledge that I’m a bluegrass musician, obviously. I also like the cryptic “hehe” in the third one. What’s funny about bookmarking?
Enjoy your week. Join me at Bluegrass Junction every week day from 3-9PM eastern time, and from noon to 6 PM Saturdays, 6 to 9PM Sundays, Sirius 65/XM 14
